One of the most popular online insurers has recently announced that, as part of a birthday giveaway, some of its customers will receive their car insurance free for a year. This sounds like an absolutely fantastic offer and one that is undoubtedly worth being a loyal customer for. The problem lies in how the cheap car insurance is doled out. All you have to do is take out a policy and then wait to see if you will get it for free! Yes, you have to take out a policy (not already have one) and then see if you get it for free. If not you could end up with a policy that you do not want and costs you more than you would otherwise have to pay.

There is a moral to this story. Of course, some people will get free insurance and others will get good value for money but avoid being taken in by offers like these because if they seem to good to be true then they all too often are.
